Working conditions

  • Identify and assess potential subcontractors based on project requirements, capabilities, and cost-effectiveness;
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of subcontractor proposals and make recommendations for vendor selection;
  • Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with subcontractors to ensure favourable agreements that align with project goals and budget constraints;
  • Draft and finalize subcontractor agreements in collaboration with legal and procurement teams;
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure they align with project schedules, specifications, and quality standards;
  • Facilitate regular meetings with subcontractors to review progress, address issues, and ensure adherence to project timelines;
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and evaluate their ability to meet contractual obligations, quality expectations, and safety standard;
  • Implement performance metrics and conduct periodic assessments to track subcontractor performance over time;
  • Proactively identify and resolve any issues or disputes that arise between subcontractors and the main contractor;
  • Stay abreast of changes in procurement regulations and industry best practices, proactively adapting procurement processes as needed;
  • Provide regular updates on procurement activities, performance metrics, and supply chain developments to key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field;
  • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in the shipbuilding or maritime industry;
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office applications;
  • Knowledge of procurement regulations, standards, and best practices in the maritime sector;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with a focus on achieving project objectives and organizational goals.
