  • Drafting, negotiating, analyzing and interpreting a broad range of international commercial transactions and related documents in the areas of the upstream, midstream and downstream oil & gas, green energy, international sale and purchase of goods and services, joint venture agreements, etc;
  • Identifying and assessing legal issues and risks in international transactions and projects, recommending effective legal strategies for the management of such issues and risks; 
  • Advising on energy law (particularly oil and gas law), civil law, international commercial transactions, private international law environmental law, and related areas;
  • Collaborating closely with others within SOCAR Legal & Compliance and other functions within SOCAR Group to recommend and help the businesses implement appropriate mitigation of risk and management of legal issues impacting the business.

Tələblər

  • Higher education- An LLM degree in commercial (business) law or related areas from reputable universities in the US, UK and EU);
  • Minimum of 5 year of progressive legal practice (experience in the energy industry is an asset);
  • Advanced knowledge in international commercial (business) law;
  • Broad knowledge in public and private international law and international arbitration;
  • Experience in a law firm in Azerbaijan or abroad is an asset;
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team in a global function;
  • Strong negotiations and problem-solving skills, with the creativity to propose different options and build consensus;
  • Show proactivity, attention to detail;
  • Show integrity, courage and sound ethical judgment;
  • Membership in Azerbaijan Bar Association or foreign bar associations is an asset;
  • Fluency in Azerbaijani and English;
