Working conditions
- Serves as resource to students by providing counseling that will lead each student to increase self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making, relationship skills, and social awareness;
- Attends and participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP) and various other meetings concerning students with special needs; Collaborates with parents, school staff and administrators in the development and implementation of IEP's, Behavior Support Plans (BSP's) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP's) as required;
- Activities may include classroom lessons and individual and small group counseling for students who require supplemental support to access and/or make progress in general education;
- Development of preventive measures against bullying at school;
- Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and families;
- Performs other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Requirements
- Bachelor or Master degree in relevant field;
- At least 1-3 years of work experience in the relevant field with students between the ages of 11-18;
- Fluency in Azerbaijani and advanced level of English and Russian;
- Experience in using MS Office and Windows software packages;
- Knowledge of child psychology principles, assessments methods, behavior modification, etc., and current developments in child psychology, knowledge of differentiated instruction based upon student learning profiles;
- Knowledge of applicable state laws regarding education and students;
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents;
- To establish effective communication with parents, school leaders, teachers and support staff.
