Working conditions
- Undertake dietetic assessments of referred guest taking into account medical, social, cultural and psychological factors (guest’s profile);
- Calculate nutritional requirements of the guest based on the interpretation of heredity, anthropometry, biochemistry, clinical condition and other physical parameters;
- Determine, prescribe and plan the appropriate dietetic treatment to assist in the promotion of health and control of disease;
- Provide nutrition and dietary advice based on current evidence and appropriate to the guest’s profile;
- Counsel guests on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life. Communicate this complex and sensitive information in an understandable form to guests.
- Be accessible at all times whilst on duty by mobile phone:
- Consult with medical doctors to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of guests and make recommendations regarding the adaptation of medication that may interfere with nutrient or drug absorption;
- Maintain professional development and an up to date knowledge in seeking to improve the quality of services provided to the guests;
- Flexibility in shift/working patterns to meet the needs of the service in a developing and changing environment;
- Consult with medical doctors to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of guests and make recommendations regarding the adaptation of medication that may interfere with nutrient or drug absorption.
Requirements
- Degree or postgraduate diploma in the area of nutrition or dietetics;
- A minimum of one year of clinical experience is a plus following the acquisition of degree;
- English and Russian language speaking, understanding, reading, writing at advanced level;
- Ability to use computer software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point;
- Be proficient in the use of dietary analysis software;
- Ability to use nutritional tools such as calorimeters, bioelectric impedance machines, skinfold callipers.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written;
- Understanding of the role of teamwork in providing quality services.
